What Have You Got to Lose? Risk Life
Death is not the biggest fear we have; our biggest fear is taking the risk to be alive – the risk to be alive and express what we really are.” ~ Don Miguel Ruiz
I know some of you will read this and go, “I have a family, job, responsibilities. I can’t risk my livelihood for some far-fetched fantasy.” And if that’s true for you, I can’t change that. But risk does not have to be a big thing. It does not have to be a scary thing. Risk is simply a willingness to see things in a different way. Risk may be feeling a new emotion or choosing to respond vs. react. In a recent keynote speech, I told my story about growing up in a trailer park. The story I said I’d never ever ever tell on a stage. I did it. People connected and learned more deeply. I risked. I didn’t die. What are you willing to risk? Life is pretty amazing on the other side.
