5 Spirit & Business Resolutions For Your New Year

Resolve: Means to choose, a firm decision to do or not to do something.

It just is. It seems with the same force that brings gravity, death, and taxes, the week between Christmas and New Years we all are resolving to do something. Many attribute resolutions to goals. They are not really the same thing. A goal is an aim, a desired result, or a goal like in the game of soccer. A resolution is a choice. Words have power a power we often choose not to consciously think about.   This is why this time of resolutions is so powerful.

Here are 5 new choices aka – resolutions your leadership team must act upon to make 2015 the year your organization comes alive.

  1. Resolve to Recognize the Power of Your Business Vision

It is done unto us, and to our businesses, as we believe. If you don’t have a vision statement or belief statement about the purpose of your business, now is the time. Choose to get one.

  1. Resolve to Unify a team of staff and/or volunteers around 1 common vision.

When two or more are gathered there is an undeniable power. Choose this year to build a team around your common vision.

  1. Resolve to Realize that vision can come true

In sports we hear athletes say all the time how they visualized the race, or the goal. In 2015 resolve, choose to do that in your business. Several times each week take 5 minutes and visualize, feel you and your team attaining the choices you make.

  1. Resolve to Appreciate everything a little more.

Bless you Oprah Winfrey for making the “gratitude journal” a thing. Now let’s take that to the next level. Choose to appreciate everything around you. If you for whatever reason cannot choose that, then choose to change the people or things around you.

  1. Resolve to Release All past concerns

As the clock strikes midnight… choose to life the theme song from 2014’s biggest hit move, Frozen Let it go! Let go of the could haves, the would haves, the regrets and the should haves. Choose to Let it go!

A resolution is more than setting a goal, it is acting on that choice each day with joy and ease and faith. What do you resolve to do differently in 2015?
