7 Quotes of Inspiration on President’s Day

I wish they would take away his tweeter stream.” Was what I heard as I walked into my office a few weeks ago. After a laugh and minor correction, “It’s a twitter stream.” I corrected. I knew exactly what my assistant was referring to.

It’s easy to get lost in the twitter stream of our current president. So today on Presidents day 2017 I bring to you 7 quotes on key traits of leadership from past presidents to inspire you to live and lead a conscious life and business.

Action:

If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more, and become more, you are a leader.” John Quincy Adams

Belief:

We still believe that this should be a place where you can make it if you try.” Barack Obama

Character:

“With all the power that a President has, the most important thing to bear in mind is this: You must not give power to a man unless, above everything else, he has character. Character is the most important qualification the President of the United States can have.” Richard Nixon

Honesty:

“Honesty is the first chapter in the book of wisdom.” Thomas Jefferson

Leadership:

“The greatest leader is not necessarily the one who does the greatest things. He is the one that gets the people to do the greatest things.” Ronald Regan

Success:

“Always bear in mind that your own resolution to succeed is more important than any other.” Abraham Lincoln

Vision:

“The empires of the future are empires of the mind.” – Winston Churchill

The day of the election results several of my older and wiser friends called to remind me. We have survived bad presidents before. Today a month after the inauguration I would not say this is a “bad” president I refrain from judgment only to say he is an “interesting” president.

Like it or no we live in a social media stream world. I’m pretty sure they will not be taking away President Trump’s twitter stream. In the meantime, may these 7 leadership traits from past presidents inform your week. As you choose to live a more conscious life and step up to what you love and what you are here to lead may you choose mindful action, believe in what is possible, and do so from the conviction of your character. I implore you to lead from honesty of your vision knowing you will be a success everywhere you lead.
